Henry is a time traveller, except he can’t control when or where he goes. He just turns up in a random place completely naked and has to survive. It requires quick wits, a particular set of skills and a pinch of luck. Clare meets Henry when he appears behind her house. And then he just keeps on turning up!
This is my favourite book of all time! I love the strength both characters show and how they face the challenges together. The ups and downs of a relationship and the strain the time travelling puts on it. There are scenes from the book that stuck with me years after reading it – both heartwarming and heart-wrenching moments. It’s full of tension from the time travelling action as well as emotion; a total tear jerker. I completely bought into the realism of the plot and the characters’ behaviour despite the fantasy aspects. Timeless love!
