This book has a promising beginning. The Alpha King needs an heir but refuses to take another wife after his first wife and mate passed away. A meddling Alpha delivers a breeder to him as a way of settling a debt. The King has no real interest in the idea until he sees her. A beautiful woman, the heir he needs, why not? But will she become more to him…
It sounds like it will be a tale of physical attraction, where unexpected feelings will build as two people do their duty to the Kingdom 🤭 A tale of werewolves, magic and politics. Sex and love and uncovering secrets from the past.
Unfortunately it’s not one standalone book where a near death experience jolts the king into realising who he loves and conceiving an heir and they all live happily ever after.
No – it goes on for 6 volumes. And it gets more and more farcical as it goes on though I gave up at the end book 3.
At some point it knows it’s getting more and more ridiculous but it doesn’t laugh at itself enough to stop it being annoying. The language some of the characters use isn’t consistent with who they’re supposed to be. Everything is rushed through too fast but at the same time it’s boring because you don’t get the highs of challenges overcome after great difficulty – problems are solved too quickly and easily. The amount of angst because people don’t know and understand one another, but profess to be in love 🤦♀️

Will it change the world?
I doubt it – The bad guys are too obviously the bad guys; they aren’t complex they’re just dismissed as power hungry, crazy or not right in the head. The idea that the King is so naive, thoughtless and bad at politics makes me think he doesn’t deserve the throne. Amateurs!
