Smitten by the Dragon by Tully Belle

Caran is a failing as an anti-dragon agent, when she’s sent on a spy mission. On her first day, she meets Ash Dragonspark, who decides he wants her in his bed. Caran blows hot and cold but does the deed and it turns out to be a pleasant experience.

I gave up after that part. She’s supposed to fall for him. They just went to bed together and she’s acting like it’s another day at the office.

I didn’t warm to Caran. She’s hesitant to jump into bed with Ash because he’s a stranger and linked to the dangerous dragons she opposes – fair enough. I know it’s your mission, but don’t go to bed with someone you don’t feel comfy with! Just hang on if you’re not sure. I don’t like him either but he gets a bit of slack as he’s just after a one night stand and we know he’s the one being spied on. Weird pair. It was all a bit professional/transactional. No connection, no particularly attractive qualities. Maybe it was supposed to be tension between “he’s hot, he’s dangerous, she doesn’t know him, but he’ll seduce her, break down her reservations, she’ll throw caution to the wind and the world will never be the same again” – but it wasn’t.

Didn’t really get far enough to find out.
