When hockey star Alex meets his best friend’s sister, Chloe, she didn’t give him the time of day. That gets his attention. Despite the many puck bunnies throwing themselves at him, he’s bored of them. But Chloe, he’s prepared to chase. Because she doesn’t care about the fame, the money or even the hockey.
Chloe doesn’t think Alex is serious and keeps him at a distance. But that gives them time to get to know each other. Despite his cocky arrogance, Alex slowly grows on Chloe. But she’s not self confident and can’t be sure if the playboy is genuinely interested in a curvy girl like her. Not only is she self conscious, she has plenty of people around her telling her to readjust her expectations because Alex won’t settle for her. Jealous haters! But she also has some cool people in her corner, like her friend on reception and her brother.
It’s not a typical brother’s best friend but is an enjoyable story with a good balance of love, steam and plot – I would read more from this author.
If I was Alex, I might have been cleverer about solving the barrier to their relationship and who made money from that. I will leave it cryptic so I don’t spoil that bit.
Not sure there were any condoms in this book. Not ideal if you’re hooking up with a reformed manwhore. Have a conversation about it at least – you deserve it!
Will it change the world?
Shows that curvy girls can catch hot hockey players and shouldn’t listen to the jealous vultures circling. Not only does Alex love every inch, he carries her to the bedroom – how hot is that?!
