Doyle is the new vet at Sal’s practice and they share the apartment above. Sal has been keeping her sexy colleague / roommate at a distance with her grouchiness and string of one night stands. Doyle wants to get to know the real Sal buried under the crankiness but Sal is not up for a relationship.
I love the twist on grumpy sunshine where the woman is the grumpy one and also that the man is the one rejecting transactional sex. I enjoyed seeing Doyle’s patience as he chips away at Sal’s armour and his persistence in wanting to date her, not just take what she’s offering physically. The chemistry they have is scorching and I thought there was the right balance of sensitivity and sizzle as the tension between them plays out.

Will it change the world?
Lots of adoration for puppies, kittens and pets of all shapes and sizes in this book. But the pig got fried for breakfast. Just saying there’s a little double standard in the animal loving world where some animals count more than others. Now I sound like George Orwell ๐
